Brighton Holistics are pleased to offer you the ‘Reflexology Level 5 to Indian Head Massage Level 3 Qualification’ training course in Brighton.

Title: Reflexology Level 5 to Indian Head Massage Level 3 Qualification
Accreditation: This course is a Level 3 Qualification and is fully accredited by the Federation of Holistics Therapists (FHT), the International Therapy Examination Council (ITEC) and the Vocational Training Charity Trust (VTCT).
Cost of the Course: The cost of this course is £380. Inclusive of VAT.
Course Fees Covers: The course fee covers all FHT assessment and exam fees, as well as,  Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology.

Brief: This level 3 Indian Head massage training course taught at Brighton Holistics is comprehensive and practical. You will study and gain the knowledge of the principles of an Indian Head Massage therapist, and you will learn the benefits and techniques of Indian Head Massage and be given the knowledge to understand how this treatment works.
Requirements: This course is available for complete beginners with no previous experience. Applicants must be 18 years or over. Basic computer skills will be an advantage, as your portfolio will be completed online.
Dates & Bookings: Brighton Holistics are one of a very few schools which allow APL learning. In order to qualify for APL to a new qualification, with one of our Continuing Education Courses, your existing qualification cannot be more than five years old. Within this time frame, we can, Accredited Prior Learning (APL) or Credit Transfer your qualification. Your current qualification must be a recognised qualification or your course must have met the National Occupational Standard.

Alternative: This course is available as a Weekday course and as a Weekend course.
Duration: Weekday – This course takes approximately 6 months to complete. There are an initial 2 consecutive days starting from the course start date shown above, with a further 1 tutorial day spread throughout the course duration, plus your final assessment day.

Weekend  The weekend version of this course is carried out over 2 consecutive days (Saturday and Sunday), starting from the course start date shown above, with a further 1 tutorial day spread throughout the course duration, plus your final assessment day. This course takes approximately 6 months to complete.

During 6 months you will need to attend 4 training days (this includes your assessment day) at Brighton Holistics. Each training day starts at 10.30 am and finishes at around 4.30 pm. Please note that this is a part-time course. Due to the amount of information covered in the course home studies of approximately 5 hours per week will be required.

COVID-19 Alteration:

Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, for the foreseeable future, all theory lessons will be carried out using Zoom before the course starts, this will require three x one and half hour online meetings and three one hour online meetings. Prior to the first day of training, you will be allocated a time slot. There will be a morning session starting at 10 am till 12.30 and an afternoon session starting at 2 pm till 4.30 pm. Learners must bring their own models to work on during the practical module and will not be allowed to work on each other. Only two learners and their models (total of 4 people plus tutor) are permitted into the treatment room during this time. During the practical training session, a sealed bottled of water will be provided, but please feel free to bring a flask of hot drink with you for you and your model. Towels must be provided by the learner and you will be asked to sign a disclaimer to say your towels have been freshly washed at 60°C or above. No towels will be provided by Brighton Holistics for models to use. Before any learner or model is allowed entry into the training room, their temperature will be checked to ensure it is under the allowed limit.

Reflexology Level 5 to Indian Head Massage Level 3 Qualification Course – More Details

This Level 3 Indian Head Massage Qualification training course taught at Brighton Holistics is comprehensive and practical. This level 3 Indian Head Course is a great foundation to start your career as a Holistic therapist. Indian Head Massage is massage applied to the upper back, upper arms, and head and neck areas. The methods are designed to promote relaxation, to relieve stress-related muscle tension and to improve blood flow in the head and neck areas. As the treatment can be performed without the removal of clothing, it is commonly used on airlines, in offices and workplaces, particularly where there are stressful situations or physical problems arising from the continuous use of computers.

During the course we will cover the following topics:

  • Provide Indian head massage,
  • Principles and practice of complementary therapies,
  • Business practice for complementary therapies,
  • Reflective practice for Indian head massage,
  • The principles and practice of a massage therapist,
  • Legislation and working practices,
  • Client consultations including contraindications and restrictions,
  • Good practice and legal obligations,
  • Guide to nutrition for the complementary therapist,
  • Guide to energy for the complementary therapist,
  • Guide to nutrition for the complementary therapist,
  • Guide to energy for the complementary therapist,
  • Mental Health awareness,
  • Diversity and Equality.

Due to the amount of information covered in the course, home studies of approximately 5 hours per week will be required.

Please note that one-day courses or online courses in Indian Head Massage are not recognised qualifications. This means they do not meet the National Occupational Standard or Core Curriculum. Class Size:

A maximum of eight learners per class, this allows the tutor to monitor individuals progress and development. Please see the booking terms and conditions for information.

Manuals & Certification:

Training manuals will be downloadable to each learner via their online learning portal. These manuals will be available to download for 60 days once your course has started. It will be the learner’s responsibility to download and save the training manuals within this time. Manuals can be read on all devices. Certification for your course will be emailed to you once you have met the learning outcomes.

Learning Outcomes & Evidence of achievement:

Learners will be required to show achievement of a range of relevant learning outcomes and assessment criteria, as set by the National Occupational Standard and Accrediting Body by:

  • Practical assessments and theoretical knowledge will be assessed during your training time.
  • Federation of Holistic Therapists  (FHT) members will need to complete sixteen case studies; this is made up of eight clients each having two treatments along with a practical assessment.
  • All case studies are completed through the Brighton Holistics online assessment portal.
  • Certification will only be issued once you show that you are competent with this treatment and that you have met the range of learning outcomes and assessment criteria that have been set by the National Occupational Standards (NOS) and accrediting body.
  • Some professional bodies don’t require case studies, however, this does not meet the National Occupational Standards (NOS).

Upon completion of this course, you will be able to register with the Federation of Holistics Therapists (FHT).
