Accreditation: This course is a Level 3 qualification and is fully accredited by the Federation of Holistics Therapists (FHT), the International Therapy Examination Council (ITEC) and the Vocational Training Charity Trust (VTCT).
Cost of the Course: The cost of this course is £1385. Inclusive of VAT.
Course Fee Covers: The course fee covers all FHT assessment and exam fees.

Brief: This level 3 Body Massage training course taught at Brighton Holistics is comprehensive and practical. You will study and gain the knowledge of the principles of a Massage therapist, and you will learn the benefits and techniques of body massage and be give the knowledge to understand how massage therapy works by stimulating the body’s self-healing mechanism to function efficiently.
Requirements: Learners must be over the age of 18 and meet the pre-course pre-requisites, which are shown below.
Dates & Bookings: Brighton Holistics are one of a very few schools which allow APL learning. In order to qualify for APL to a new qualification, with one of our Continuing Education Courses, your existing qualification cannot be more than five years old. Within this time frame, we can, Accredited Prior Learning (APL) or Credit Transfer your qualification. Your current qualification must be a recognised qualification or your course must have met the National Occupational Standard.

Alternative: This course is available as a Weekday course and as a Weekend course.
Duration: Weekday – This course takes approximately ten months to complete. There are an initial five consecutive days (Monday to Friday), starting from the course start date shown above, with a further five tutorial days spread throughout the course duration, plus your final assessment day.

Weekend – The weekend version of this course is carried out over two consecutive weekends (Saturday and Sunday), starting from the course start date shown above, with a further four tutorial days spread throughout the course duration, plus your final assessment day. This course takes approximately ten months to complete.

Each training day starts at 10.30 am and finishes at around 4.30 pm. Please note that this is a part-time course. Due to the amount of information covered in the course, home study will be required.

Important Note: This course only takes place when required, if you are interested in taking this course please email us or call us to discuss available dates.

COVID-19 Alteration: Theory lessons will be carried out via using Zoom on the first 2 days of the course. From day three, four and five of the first block of training you will be split into groups. There will be a morning session starting at 10 am till 12.30 and an afternoon session starting at 2 pm till 4.30 pm and then an evening session starting at 6.30 till 8.30. Learners must bring their own models to work on during the practical module and will not be allowed to work on each other. Only two learners and their models (total of 4 people plus tutor) are permitted into the treatment room during this time. During the practical training session, a sealed bottle of water will be provided, but please feel free to bring a flask of hot drink with you for you and your model. Towels must be provided by the learner and you will be asked to sign a disclaimer to say your towels have been freshly washed at 60°C or above. No towels will be provided by Brighton Holistics for models to use. Before any learner or model is allowed entry into the training room, their temperature will be checked to ensure it is under the allowed limit.

Indian Head Massage Level 3 to Body Massage Level 3 Training Course – More Details

This level 3 Body Massage training course taught at Brighton Holistics is comprehensive and practical. You will study and gain the knowledge of the principles of a Massage therapist, and you will learn the benefits and techniques of body massage and be give the knowledge to understand how massage therapy works by stimulating the body’s self-healing mechanism to function efficiently.

This course will give you a great foundation to be a fully qualified and accredited registered therapist.

During the course we will cover the following topics:

  • The principles and practice of a massage therapist,
  • Client care and preparation,
  • Legislation and working practices,
  • Client consultations including contraindications and restrictions,
  • Reflective practice,
  • Good practice and legal obligations,
  • History & development of massage,
  • Why and how massage works,
  • Physiological therapeutic effects of massage,
  • Business Studies.

Due to the amount of information covered in the course, home studies of approximately five hours per week will be required.

Please note that one-day courses or online courses in Massage may not be recognised qualifications which means they do not meet the National Occupational Standard or Core Curriculum. Qualification gained:

Level 3 Diploma in Body Massage Therapy. Accredited by the Federation of Holistics Therapists (FHT).

Course accreditation:

This course is a Level 3 qualification and is fully accredited by the Federation of Holistics Therapists (FHT), the International Therapy Examination Council (ITEC) and the Vocational Training Charity Trust (VTCT).

Course Pre-requisites:

To qualify for this upgrade course you must hold a recognised level 3 qualification, which meets the National Occupational Standard and the Core Curriculum. Your qualification must be no more than five years old. This is called Accredited Prior Learning (APL). Class Size:

A maximum of eight learners per class, this allows the tutor to monitor individuals progress and development. Please see the booking terms and conditions for information.

Manuals & Certification:

Training manuals will be downloadable to each learner via their online learning portal. These manuals will be available to download for 60 days once your course has started. It will be the learner’s responsibility to download and save the training manuals within this time. Manuals can be read on all devices. Certification for your course will be emailed to you once you have met the learning outcomes.

Learning Outcomes & Evidence of achievement:

Learners will be required to show achievement of a range of relevant learning outcomes and assessment criteria, as set by the National Occupational Standard and Accrediting Body by:

  • Practical assessments and theoretical knowledge will be assessed during your training time.
  • You will need to complete fifteen clients each having two treatments, giving a total of thirty case studies, along with a practical assessment.
  • All case studies are completed through the Brighton Holistics online assessment portal.
  • Certification will only be issued once you show that you are competent with this treatment and that you have met the range of learning outcomes and assessment criteria that have been set by the National Occupational Standards (NOS) and accrediting body.
  • Some professional bodies don’t require case studies, however, this does not meet the National Occupational Standards (NOS).

Upon completion of this course you will be able to register with the Federation of Holistics Therapists (FHT), the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) as well as being able to register on the Accredited Voluntary Register (AVR) by the Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care (PSA).
