Why do prices vary so much for training courses? Do we get the same training if we train with you?
As with everything in life prices vary from establishment to establishment. I am very lucky in that I own my facility and do not have to cover the overheads of renting training venues. I also want to make sure that my prices are affordable for everyone.
If payment is a problem please do not hesitate to contact me and I will be more than happy to sort a payment plan out for you. Full payment must be made though before you complete the course.
I have noticed that the size of your classes, are small, if only two people are booked in will it still go ahead?
I only work with small groups the maximum I train in one day is four, this means that everyone gets the most from the day. If the course is on a one to one basis I will endeavourer to get a model for you to work on, if I can’t you may have to find your own model, most friends or family member are keen for a day of pampering.
I have noticed that most of your courses are just one day, can I learn all I need to in just one day?
Yes you can, you are given all the information and training you will need to carry out the treatment you are learning. You will be given an extensive training manual and as much after care as you need, I’m always at the end of the phone or can answer your questions via email or if you wish you can always pop in and see me and we can run through the treatment again.
After I have completed my course can I offer these therapies to the public and charge for them?
Yes you can. The only course that isn’t certified and insurable is Massage for Beginners workshop; however, this course is perfect for those who would like to learn this massage to use on partners, friends or family, couples or for qualified therapists who are rusty and would like a refresher.
All other courses on offer are insurable, which means you can offer them to the public and charge for them.
Will I learn all about the history and philosophy of the massage as well as the technique itself?
My one-day courses are very much intended as small, hands-on classes offering one-to-one tuition. As such they concentrate on teaching you how to give the massage in an effective, safe and professional way. To cover in-depth the history and philosophy of each massage would necessitate a 2-day course, double the price and involve accommodation costs.
To overcome this I provide you with full manuals giving you all the information about the massage you’re learning; this saves you having to make notes on the day and gives you the in-depth information needed and much of this is also covered on the day. There is also a wealth of information available to students both from books and online, recommendations can be made of which books to purchase to further your knowledge.
The tutors will cover the information needed verbally before the practical part of the day, ensuring all your questions are answered.
How can you offer the same course in just one day without A&P?
Often colleges will offer these courses with Anatomy and Physiology or even ask students to undertake case histories; however this is not a requirement or a legal prerequisite. You are able to take private courses and obtain a recognised certificate and get insurance as a practitioner (which allows you to use these therapies with the public and charge for it). We do however include all the essential A&P you will be required to know in your course manual, there is no need to purchase additional A&P manuals.
All my courses have been awarded CPD points (Continuing Professional Development). There are a certain amount of points required by the various bodies (CMA, FHT etc) to ensure that members are up to date with various therapies. For example Aromatherapists are required every 3 years to keep their training in massage up to date and will look for CPD courses to be able to do this.
Our CPD courses are available for the professional massage therapist or for a complete beginner. All professional bodies award one day courses various amounts of CPD points, on average you gain one CPD point for every hour of the course.
Are your courses suitable for beginners?
Most of my courses are ideal for beginners, or therapists looking to add these popular massages to their repertoire.
On each course listed it will state if you need to have a massage qualification or not.
Can I practice abroad, and will the insurance you recommend cover me?
Many students come to do my training from overseas, many have been able to gain insurance in their country. Please note every different country has different guidelines for Treatment Insurance and we are only fully educated with regards to UK guidelines not overseas.
It is advised you check with your insurance companies first if you are an overseas student.
Will I get the certificate on the day of training?
Yes, certificates are only given once students have demonstrated that they have absorbed the information presented during the day and after applying a satisfactory treatment which is observed by the tutor.
Yes of course, everyone is welcome!
